Week end update.

Andrew and I had a lovely weekend together, both off of work together, ehich is a rare occasion. it was a Saturday night and originally we had had plans to go out for sushi with 2 friends of ours, plans changed and we ended up going out just the two of us over Harrah's Casino. We went dancing at the Voodoo lounge, in the Harrah's. The band was playing all 80s songs, and there were go-go dancers on two potiums tossing glow in the dark necklaces to the dance crowd.

After Harrah's we decided to go to Ameristar and check out the new club, called HOME. It is very exclusive. there are three different lines to get in. Andrew and I were in the "General Admissions" line. I call it the plain Jane line. More about that in a minute. The second line is for people who have their names on a list. The third line people had table reservations.

The table reservations are a 2 bottle minimum at $125 a bottle. When we finaly got into the club the lounge area has tables to sit at but they were for the reserved high price people. Where else could we sit? Officially no where to sit with out paying the fee. We saw an empty table, so we sat to people watch. Then a bouncer or someone who looks important, tells us we can't sit at that table because it is reserved. I saw that table through out the night and no one ever used the table. Obserd! So we got up and looked around the lounge for a place to sit. Three guys are standing around a "reserved table" drinking thier $125 grey goose vodka, so I go up to one of them and ask if we could sit down at their table. The guy said, Sure, the more the marrier. Andrew and I sat down and blended in with the table reserve peeps. One guy even offered us some vodka but the bottle was empty! HA!

later we went onto the dance floor, and the DJ started to toss wife beaters tee with the HOME logo on it. One of the tanks landed right infront of Andrews feet! I saw he went to get it, (thinking he was the gentalman picking it up for me...his wife!) he hands it over to a girl standing by him! He said she mummled under her breath that she caught it or something...so he gave it to her. I guess he is a gentalman either way you look at it. Oh well no free tee for me. We had fun though.

Oh so about the process of getting into this exclusive, brand new club. We are standing in line for the general public only to have bouncers let certian people from the line in first...people in BACK of us! Cutting ahead getting in first all according to the way they dress. that was our conclution anyway. The people who were cutting in, all looked a certain way. Hot and dressed to go clubbin. We felt like plain janes.

This post is deep in thought

What a beautiful insight about the geese. (see clip) The clip explains the reason behind why birds fly in a V formation and how they are interacting with other birds to help each other out as a team. I can't add the clip on this blog...here is what it says about Geese. Quoted from a slide show clip.

"As each bird flaps its wings, it creates uplift for the bird following. In a V formation, the whole flock adds at least 71% more flying range than if each bird flew alone. Have you ever wondered why migrating geese fly in a V formation? As with most animal behavior, God had a good reason for including that in their instincts. Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to fly alone…and quickly get back into formation. Geese in the rear of the formation honk to encourage those up front to up their speed. It is important that our honking from behind” be encouraging. Otherwise it’s just- well- honking. When a goose gets sick or wounded, two other geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help and provide protection. They stay with the unhealthy member of the flock until it is either able to fly again or dies. "

"...“Ask the beasts, and they will teach you; and the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; and the fish of the sea will explain to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?” JOB 12:7-9

I just had an upifany, to share with my blog readers:

God does work in mysterious ways. Don’t take time to question God, just go with it. I believe that there is a time and reason for everything. Things happen for a reason, and all we could do is adjust. We should be aware that our choices are not really our choice. God has already chosen for us... how the outcome will turn out. He has the greater plan for us all.

Andrew and I "CHOOSE" to get pregnant, God thought differently. It was not the right time, so I miscarried, maybe if the baby progressed further to term there would have still been something wrong with the baby? This was Gods way of choosing for us. This particular pregnancy was not the right time for us...? We will try agian and maybe God will let us keep the pregnancy the next time, and we will have a baby soon. God will choose for us when the time is right, and it will fit into his greater plan. When I was prego I was one of the geese flying in the V formation, with support from people around me. Then I misscarried and flew down to the pond to heal, my fellow geese are there for me while I heal and try agian. Then I will be prego agian and rejoin the V formation, maybe starting out towards the back and pick up my strength with the support of other geese to move towards the front of the V. When I get myself to the very front, it will be 9 months later and I will have God on my side, watching over me as I give birth to a healthy little baby. A baby for Andrew and I to raise as our own little geese to be proud of and a part of our family.

Why do some people have sex just one time and become pregnant, only to not want the baby and either give it up for adoption or even abort it? Why do loving couples who want to become loving parents choose to have a baby and try for a while to become pregnant only to loose the baby in a miscarrage? Where is the fairness in this? Some people don't choose to become pregnant and they call it "knocked up" We want to choose to be pregnant and can't (so far).

A bun in the oven, knocked up, there is a beach ball under your shirt!, Expecting, prego, preggy, pregnant, 9 months rag free, all of these phrases mean the same thing, and I want it so bad!

God, please choose me next, we want to have the stork bring us a baby, to raise a family of our own.

There is no more bun in the oven...

Andrew and I are sad to say we lost the baby. I was a few weeks pregnant but no longer pregnant. This is the saddest blog, right next to the one about my aunt Kate passing away, that I have to type. I am keeping it short, I don't know what to really type but frustration and sadness, and I don't want my blog to be a downer to read, for those who are having a happy day. Stay happy and don't worry about us. We will try agian. I feel so empty inside my tummy. It is so hollow, and babyless.

I am going to go eat some sushi and dye my hair red now. Two things that the DR said that I could not do while prego, that and eating lunch meat or cookie dough (raw egg batters).

5 weeks pregy!

MyHotComments.com
MyHotComments

I am about 5 weeks pregnant! Andrew quickly calculated out 5 weeks as also saying we only have 8 months left of being pregnant! And we just found out I was even pregnant only last week! Small, minoot freak out moment. I could tell Andrew is excited, even if he is not showing it to well. He told his coworkers and then on Saturday at his volunteer group doing taxes, he told everyone there that we are expecting our first baby.

This morning I woke up and was looking at my belly, I told Andrew to look at it, it is starting to show a little... Andrew said, "I know I was touching your belly last night, looking at it while you were sleeping." AHHH. He is so adorable. I love Andrew so much. I know he will be a great daddy. It's a big step and we are ready with both feet to jump in. He says he's is nervous, and acts like he is dreading it at times, but I know he is excited in his own secret way. I am nervous too...and excited.

I joined a website to track my pregnancy and get baby information. Here is a link to my profile:

http://www.whattoexpect.com/profile/leitram78_1st

5 weeks pregnant means: The heart is developing. There is a website I am following, http://www.whattoexpect.com/ the following information is written on the site at 5 weeks,

"It takes a lot of developing to become a baby — all the major (and minor) bodily systems (digestive, circulatory, nervous, and so on) and organs (heart, lungs, stomach…you get the idea) have to form from scratch. One of the first systems to be operational is the circulatory (or blood) system — along with its companion organ: the heart. Right now, your baby's heart is made up of two tiny channels called heart tubes — and they're already hard at work, beating to their own drummer (it will be weeks before those beats become coordinated). When those tubes fuse together, your baby will have a fully functioning heart (though it almost certainly already has its grip on yours). Also in the works this week are several other organs, including the neural tube (the precursor to your baby's brain and spinal cord), which hasn't yet sealed, but by next week, that open-door policy is over. "

WOW!

Oxymorons

Oxymoron as defined by the dictionary: A figure of speech in which incongruous or contradictory terms appear side by side... My definition: Two things that clash, and are contradictory. I tried a new gum flavor by Orbits, it confused my taste buds! At first it was a minty but melon flavor, and as I continued to chew it, the flavor turned more to an orange flavor with a hint of the minty. Towards the end of the flavor just before the gum becomes flavorless, it start to taste like chocolate! The gum was an Oxymoron! It contradicted what flavor of gum it should be. my mouth had a party of flavors going on.

Another Oxymoron today was while I was waiting at the drive-thru for Steak-N-Shake. The landscaping has lava rocks for ground cover around the small bushes. The other day a light snow fell and remains on the ground where the sun hasn't melted it away yet. The lava rocks were covered in snow! An oxymoron is the lava rocks are related to something HOT and snow is related to something COLD. Two things that contradict one another, an oxymoron.

Vrrm Vrroommmm!

Last Saturday Andrew and I went to a 2008 Car Show. Every make and model was displayed, anywhere from Ford to Lexus! Some cars on display were consept cars not out on the market yet. Andrew's favorite concept car was the Chevrolet Camero, and mine was the Hybrid sedan, I think it was by Toyota? The Camero went off the market back in 2000 when Andrew was looking at buying a car. He ended up buying a GMC Blazor and not the last of the Cameros. Eight years later th camero is back and in the spot light.
The rear view mirrors on the doors were designed to narrow, so to look "cool" but they are not functional being so narrow. The official camero design will come out looking similar but with wider door mirrors, to be fuctional.

The hybrid car that I liked comes in a regular gas car version as well. I don't know why the car makers would make two of the same car like that though. The Hybrid version was $2000 more in price. The regular version looked exactly the same and has all the same features, except for being a hybrid. I think splurging the extra $2000 would be better for the environment and gas milage overall. Why pick out the regular car? I am pretty sure it was a Toyota car brand.
Other cars I liked were the Dodge Cavilar, Rav4 small Suv, and the Lexus Suv.
What I like about the Toyota Rav4 is the back door. Usually on SUVs the back door opens upwards ant with the Rav4 the door opens outwards. Very nice! (see photo below)

Here I am sitting in the drivers seat of the Rav4. My new dream car for when my current car goes cupput.

Outside of the car show was an obstacle course for test driving three different cars. You could either test drive a Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra or a jeep car, which I didn't get the brand name of it. It was free to test drive through the obstacle course! Andrew and I both drove the Toyota Tacoma truck. Starting off the course with driving under the bridge, then down a curb, 25 degrees titled, then up a hill to where the driver can not even see the ground any longer. The hill is pictured above where the truck is driving under the bridge. The guide who sits in the front seat with you is directing you by the flags boardering the lane. SCARY! I just had to trust the guide and continue to drive forward. Then at the base of the the hill was another slanted hill set to a 30 degree angle! (photo below) The guide told me to stop the car, resting on the slant, to wait for the truck ahead of me to go ahead further in the course. I think he wanted to see me sweat, and was yanking my chain, having me stay there on a 30 degree slant. CRAZY! The truck was resting on two wheels it felt like, I could probably touch the ground if my window was open. Ending the obstacle was a tee-ter-totter. I drove slowly up the ramp and evened the truck forward letting the truck go forward on its own as it tottered forward. If you drive the onto the teeter-totter properly there is a small sound landing at the end. Some drivers go on the ramp too quickly (Andrew) and make a thump going down off of the teeter-totter. This was so much fun!

I Felt Like a Junkie...

I tried Ebay for the first time and it was so addicting! I felt like a junkie...an Ebay junkie!

There is an MP4 player I have been wanting to get for a while now. Andrew told me about a website, to buy it through for a good deal. The site is http://www.newegg.com/ to search for products at discounted prices. I found the MP4 player on the site for $99 and did not buy it right away, because I wanted to check with Andrew first if that was a good price, and if I could buy it. My money is his money and his money is my money as well. We have a golden rule to not buy something over $100 with out letting the other know first, to agree on the big purchace. We have had this rule for a long time, and it works, it saves us money and saves us from impulse buys in the long run. He told me to go back to NewEgg.com and buy it online, it was a better deal than the same one I wanted to buy at Walmart for $189. By the time I went on the site, the Brown, Zune, 30 giga bite, MP4 player was too expensive...the price went up! Then I checked out other sites and could not find the Brown color avialable at all! I was bumbed out! I should have bought the brown one back when it was $99! The Zune hold photos, videos, songs and also tunes into FM radio. Side note: Apple Ipods do not have the FM radio feature! Zune is better.
Then I thought to try out EBAY! Typed in the words, "Zune Brown 30 GB" and a large variety is listed by bidding price and by when each bid is to end. I have never bought anything off EBAY before, I did not even have an account. I quickly learned how to use Ebay, which is very userfriendly by the way. Narrowed down the Zunes to 2 possible bids to keep track of, as well as a bid on the accessories. The accessories were sold separatly by another Ebayer including the wall charger, car charger, an arm band with protection case (photo below). I started my bidding, on the Zune Brown 30 GB (photo below), 4 days ago and would gradually check in on the progress of the price going up in bids.

Today was the final morning before final sale for both my Zune and the Zune accessories! I was on and off the computer every hour checking my bids. The accessories one went for $22.99 and I won that bid and it will now be shipped to me. SOOOOO, this means I HAVE to get the Zune now, since I have the accessories.

On the ebay screen where I watch the bid amount and the time count down, there is a refresh button. I kept on clicking the refresh button, like a junkie. I was clicking and my heart was racing, my eyeballs were bright eyed and glued to the screen, I was nervous that I would loose the bid and some one might out bid me! I set aside a maximum bid for $101.15 where ebay would automatically bid up to that amount dollar per dollar at a time as other bidders bidded. I HAVE TO WIN THIS ZUNE...I can taste it....just a little longer...come on...no more bids please! I am the winning bid, with 5 minutes 46 seconds to go! Refresh button...5 minutes 32 seconds... 5 minutes 19 seconds refresh refresh resfresh refresh refresh....1 minute 33 seconds to go till bidding ends. I am still in the lead and the bid is currently at 99 dollars and 15 cents! COME ON refresh button! 1 min 12 seconds! 58 seconds! 12 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!! refresh button! I won the bid. I just bought a Brown Zune MP4 30 GB from some guy in O'fallon, Missouri! WOOO-HOO! Only 15 cents more than the one I was going to buy off the other site. EBAY rocks! I am an Ebay junkie and I am feeling high off my winnings. I cannot wait to get the Zune and its accessories in the mail now! YAY!

Darn!

Aunt Floe came to visit, which means I am not preggy yet. We will keep trying. This is the fun part anyway, practice makes perfect. HEEEHEE. Another 28 days and counting till I find out again if I am preggy or not. We are both ready when ever a baby does decide to come along. Andrew is ready and so adorable about the whole process. I think he will be ok during the 9 month process when the time comes, because he was nervouse about it at first, but now he is hopeful.

Yesterday I drank a glass of Sangria, and Andrew looked at it and asked, "is that alcohol? you can't have any alcohol in your system!" I said, "no it is a non-alcoholic beverage, a carbinated juice, similar to sparkling cider." I reasured him that I am not going to drink any alcohol while we are trying for a baby and especially during the pregnancy. I still have 5 of my Spirnoff Ice in the fridge still because I can't drink them. I told Andrew, "We need to have friends over one night to drink up the alcohol, so it wont go to waste. There is a bottle of wine in the fridge too!"

Any one want to come over for a glass of wine or smirnoff ice? I make good pork chops also! We will make a night of it. I will stick to my glass of Sangria.

This Week Has Come To An End!

I am glad to have this past week is done and over! What a horrible week it has been. Starting with last Saturday evening, I came home from work and checked the mail. Useually I will start sorting through a stack of mail throwing out the junk mail and setting aside bills, and start off reading any letters or cards I get first. I saw a letter from my Uncle Ed, ripped it open to see how they are both doing, and what trips they have been on recently. It was strange at first to see a letter in the mail after Christmas. My Aunt and Uncle always write a Christmas letter with the holiday card. This season I noticed I did not get one, so when I saw it on Saturday in the mail, I immediatly thought they must have been on a vacation or another mission trip and didn't get around to sending out a Christmas letter in time.

I read it only to find out that my Aunt Kate passed away! She died of cancer back on December 19th. Which explains why I didn't get the usual Christmas letter, and recieved a letter from my Uncle afterwards. I wish I never ripped open that envelop it was the worst news ever to get in the mail all stacked up with the misc. bills and junk flyers! The rest of the night I was balling, I flouded a small village...Andrew did not know how to help me but to just hold me and lend me his shoulder to cry on.

Then Sunday was ordinary, just went to work. Only thing though was I felt so sad on the inside, but on the outside I had to do a "service with a smile" and greet the guests at work cheerfully. What got to be so annoying by the end of the day was the repeated question, "how are you?"

People automatically ask others in passing, "Hi, how are you?" The other person useually responds back, "I'm fine, how are you?" Well in all reality I am not fine! I just found out my Aunt just died, but I can't really say that, I just have to say,"I'm fine." At one point a guests comes up to me, asked me the dreaded question, "How are you today?" I replied back, "Great, how about yourself?" I am thinking to myself why did I say "GREAT?" and why do people even ask others that STUPID question? Because, if the I actually replied back saying, Not good at all, I am feeling pretty sad today." I don't think the person who originally asked really cares! Would they actually set aside 5 minutes to talk to me and listen to how I am feeling for real? No I do not think so! They are not even listening to my short reply back of "FINE."

This question has become a very annoying question to me. Do not ask me, "how are you?" if you really don't even realize you just asked it. This question has become a repetitive greeting, like a robot, we greet one another either by walking by some one, or as we approach another and automatically ask it. Please just stick to the greeting, "Hello" or Hi, or "good afternoon!" Don't ask any more the dull, meaningless question of how I am doing. After that sad day of putting on a fake smile, I realized this. I have decided to not bother with the repetitive greeting, instead I will greet people through out the day with a simple, "hello" or "Good evening."

I had some issues bottled up I was not aware of till now, looking back on my frustration of working that Sunday after the news of my Aunt was found out. Luckily I had the following 3 days off afterwards. I stayed at home, thinking back on fond memories of my Aunt Kate, the next day I just slept all day and watched a movie on charter on demand. Then on my third day off I broke down my Christmas tree. Put away all of the ornaments and such, it was a tedious task that I kept putting off. I like decorating for the holidays, but taking it all down seems to be harder in the end, and packing it all back up in storage boxes. As I was putting away my ornaments I came across about 5 of them were from my Aunt Kate over the years! I am so glad to have them in my collection, it is even more presious, now that she is gone, to have these ornaments from her.

The week progressed and Friday comes along, I took Andrew's car in for an Oil change and he took mine to work. After the oil change, I was heading to work and the back, passanger tire blew out! On the dash was an orange "!" that lit up and I thought...I am almost to work and will check what that means when I park the car. Since I got the oil change I just thought maybe it was a light lit by mistake. A few minutes after the orange "!" lit up the car made a loud noise and wabble wabble, I quickly pulled over onto the highway shoulder. I had a tire blow out. I learned how to change a tire and use the car jack. It is amazing how the small metal car jack can lift up the heavy car so easily! I was in the middle of changing the tire, still cranking up the car to take off the ripped up tire, and a MO Dot worker pulled over to help me with changing it. He was very helpful, and he didn't charge me for his help either. Just a good deed of helping a lady in distress. I have seen other vehicles on the side of the road with MO Dot helping them out before, I just didn't know how to get a MO Dot person out to my car. If I had to call a MO Dot phone number or get them through triple A? This MO Dot worker was driving passed me when he saw me pull over, then looped around and came back to where I was on the off ramp shoulder. I am very thankful for his help! Thanks MO Dot man, where ever you are.

This new week is turning out better than this past week has been. I can not imagine it getting any worse than having the news of a relative passing away, and having a tire blow out, hopefully the week will be better news to come. Andrew will be startring his annual volunteer work agian. He does taxes for a non profit group called Vita, here in St. Louis. He has been volunteering with Vita ever since we lived in Burbank, CA and it has followed him through out our time moving around state to state. He will be working with VITA every Saturday till April when the tax season is over. I am so proud of Andrew, he is a great man and a great husband to have.

To Be or Not To Be...That is The Question?

I will not find out if I am pregnant or not until the middle of next week! I am so eager to find out. I have been taking my multi vitamin and Folic acid daily, not drinking any alcohol and eating right, in case I am. This Wednesday coming up, I will find out if Aunt Floe comes to visit me or not. If I don't get a visit from Aunt Floe, then I am preggers! If I do, then we keep trying.

Fingers crossed. I have to wait, a whole week and it is so hard to do! I just know that I am usually on target and start always on a Wednesday, every 28 days, so hopefully I won't this time. :)

Andrew is funny, he is more nervous about me being pregnant for 9 months having an actual baby. He doesn't look forward to morning sickness, or midnight runs to "taco bell" or what ever the craving may be. I think he will do just fine, and I will try to make it as easy as possible for him to "deal" with pregnancy.

Can't wait!

Sun Shinny Day

The past couple of days have been so warm for this winter season. St Louis has tempuratures ranging from the 70s to high 50s. Today is another sun shinny day in the middle of January. Missouri is having better wheather than California! neener-neener neener! I called my mom and she told me her rain gage had an inch and a half of rain a few days ago, and really stormy winds. How is the weather by your house?

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008!

Happy New Beginnings! May this year, 2008 be greater than ever! Resolutions are useually small ways to improve your life with the start of a new year, and new beginnings. Our way for improvement this year is in a very big way...instead of the popular resolution, most people have, of wanting to loose wieght...I will actually want to GAIN wieght if it means there is a baby inside growing. Andrew and I are trying for a baby this year! Fingers crossed and we will keep everyone posted! For now we are just practicing the baby making miracle. ;) How is that for a new years resolution?

Christmas was fun, Duke loved it

Back when I put up the christmas tree and decorated the house, I set out some christmas stuffed animals on a chair. One is a knitted Santa Clause from my childhood and the other a small, Garfield in a Santa outfit. The Garfield came with a box of chocolates, Andrew gave me on our first Christmas together. I kept the Garfield ever since and put it out with the rest of my Christmas Decorations.

This year was our first year having our dog, Duke. He found my Santa Garfield and thought it was for a toy for him. The morning that I saw Duke with MY Garfield, I had to make the big desicion to give it up and let Duke enjoy it as his own toy. BUT HE CAN'T HAVE MY KNITTED SANTA CLAUSE! I quickley put the knitted Santa up higher where Duke would not get it. He carried the Garfield all around the house, cuddled with it and even played tug a war with Andrew.

A few weeks passed and Garfield lost his Santa hat, leaving him bald. Duke pulled on the hat durring tug a war. Then the stuffing started to come out where there was a rip in the seem of Garfields head. I did some surgery on him with a needle and thread. Duke was so cute while I was stiching up Garfield, he would wag his tail, in axiousness and worry...hoping that I could save his Garfield. He was whimpering and wondering why I took it away from him and why I was poking Garfield with a needle! I could only imagine what was going on in Dukes mind watching me fix it up. Duke took the Garfield back and carried it in his mouth....trotted down stairs to his corner to cuddle with HIS Garfield.

Merry Christmas Duke, my adorable doggy.

Merry Christmas Eve!

I am working tonight and on Christmas night. Not bad though, this way I will get new years off. Have to give a little to take a little. Andrew and I are driving down to Branson, Missouri for new years later on this week. I do not really know too much about Branson, just that it is a place for fun activities and shows to catch. I heard about a place for bumper car racing. We will definatly do that! Then there is also Sulivans on the Landing for live Jazz music. A good Itallian restaraunt is called Tony Z's we will also try out.

If you know of any hot spots in Branson, MO let us know! Merry Christmas everyone and have a happy, healthy new year!

Pictures of the snow fall

St. Louis had 5 inches of snow over the weekend. Here are some pictures I took around our house with snow everywhere. There is Duke laying in the snow on our deck, licking the snow! Funny dog.

My foot print and Duke's paw prints.
I shoveled a driveway for the first time. Took me 15 minutes, not bad...then it snowed more and left some snow behind on my freshly, cleared driveway!

Time to put the lawn tools away in the garage...

5 inches of snow here in St Louis

There was snow fall over the weekend. On Saturday the snow was continuous through out the day and never let up. I was at work that evening, and my car was covered in 5 inches of snow! It was 11:30 at night I started to clear off my car but gave up because my solks were getting wet and cold feet, the snow was ankle deep.

Luckily I work at a hotel and any coworkers, such as myself, who were stranded from the snow could stay in a room for free. I decided to stay and my supervisor upgraded me to the nice rooms, King size even! SHHH! Other coworkers got the standard rooms and in double beds. When the hotel gives up rooms to employees, they are usually given the standard rooms in the back hall way or corner, to keep the "good" rooms available for the guests. By the time I decided to get a room for the night it was already 11:50 almost midnight and we were had more of the upgraded rooms than the standard rooms available. My supervisor put a few of us over there to reserve the standard rooms for any walk-in guests buying a room for the night.

SCORE! King size room for little ol' me! Woo Hoo. It was very nice, but boring at the same time. There was not much on tv to watch and I didn't want to go to sleep quite yet. Andrew called me on my cell phone to wish me good night, I told him to say good night to Duke for me. I missed them both. Being that I was at work earlier, all I had on me was my work uniform and winter coat. I didn't have a change of solks, toothbrush, etc with me. I took a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste, from the front desk. I also grabbed a travel size box of detergant to hand wash my clothes in the bathroom sink.

Everything worked out and I slept in till 10 am the next morning. I ended up staying at the hotel instead of going home because I had to go to work agian at 3 pm that Sunday. After work Sunday it is 11:30 pm agian and this time I was able to clear off all of the snow from my car and the roads cleared up by then also. I was so happy to drive back home.

When I walked in the door, Duke was all smiles and I gave Andrew a big hug and petted Duke. Back home in my comfortable surroundings! Although it was fun hanging out in the hotel room for free, but it does not compare to the comforts of home.

Our 1st Snow Fall of the Season!

On December 6th, 2007 it started snowing, for the first time this winter. The snow came later than usual. There is a difference between snow and rain, where with rain I can hear the rain drops hitting the roof and pitter patter on the deck; with snow it falls quietly and with out a notice. I was sitting in my living room, not aware of the snow, all curled up on the sofa watching tv. I got up to let Duke back in from being out in the back yard. Poor dog was damp from the snow. I walked over to the sliding, glass door and looked out to my deck to see the snow, and by then the snow was falling like little beebee size ice like from a beebee gun. Duke came up to the deck and tried to lick the snow/ice up. He was so funny! Duke was biting at the deck and trying to break away the ice and eating the bits of cold snow! Then I saw my hammock had some snow on it, so I walk over to the hammock to brush the snow off, and it was all frozen to the hammock. The snow was a thin sheet of ice everywhere.

The next morning the sun comes out and the snow/ice is melting away. I let Duke go outside and when he came back in he was all wet from the melting snow. Grabbing a towel to dry him off he sat patiently while he was rubbed dry. Then he followed me to my bathroom where I finished blowdrying my hair. I decided to use the blowdryer on Duke and he loved the warm air blowing on him. He was so cute. I thought he would be afraid of the sound the blowdryer made, scince he is afraid of the vacume, when ever it is turned on.

I believe this is Dukes first snow experience, and he did very well, and seemed to enjoy the snow.
