I Don't Know Which is Worse?

Being prego I gag easily when around my dog, Duke. When he comes in from the rain and smells like a wet dog it is the worst for me. Or when I feed him his canned dog food, the smell of it makes me want to hurl. Today Duke was cuddling on the sofa with me watching a movie and I got a whiff of his dog breath!!! OOOH, WEE! I got up real quick to take the dvd out of the machine and puked all over the living room rug! Sheesh, it was like a projectile vomit, like in the movie, Exorcist. Gross. I don't know which was worse though...puking or trying to clean it up afterwards, and trying not to puke again off of the smell.

I would like to congratulate all the moms before me who went through a pukey pregnancy, knowing how hard it is myself, while others had it much worse than me. I am sorry to my mom for the time she spent pregnant with me, if I made her puke at all?

The Balloon Glow at Forrest Park

We went to the Annual Balloon Glow in Forrest Park. It was Andrew, Julie, Carissa and her family and about a thousands other spectators... Here are a series of photos I took to show the set up process.

Setting up the balloons before the balloon glow. Starting on its side with the basket tipped over and fans blasting air into the balloon part.
The balloon is starting to take shape, this is all the same balloon to show a sequence of photos I took while the inflation happened.
looking into the balloon and its massive space inside.
close up of the fire starters. I don't know the proper term for these giant metal coils, which fill the Hot-air balloons with flames.
All finished, and looking handsome, George! Balloon glow, where there are balloons displayed on the ground at night to show a beautiful glow when the fire lights them up. Tonight was so fun. I am definately going agian next year!

Here are some shots, really showing a preggy belly!

I currently at the 14 wk stage now, and love being preggy. It is a beautiful time to enjoy while it lasts. People tell me it will go quick and I'll be at 9 months before I know it.

There is something in the water...

There is something in the water, but it is not always good.

To keep hydrated, I have been drinking allot more water, now that I am pregnant. Trying out specialty water is fun, with all of the different types of water out now. Bottled water has added bonuses to the bottle now more than ever. It is not just filtered water in a bottle anymore. There are bottled water called, Smart Water, Life Water, Vitamin Water, etc. Most recently, a water came out called, "Perfect Water!"

Well, put all of the other waters out of business, because this brand claims to be the PERFECT Water, one can't get any better than that! RIGHT? At the hotel I work at, a marketing group was staying there and launching the "Perfect water" in our St. Louis area and gave us all free bottles of their "Perfect Water" to try.

First off the packaging is perfect. It looks catchy and expensive. It looks like water that I should be drinking, this water is "Perfect." I want to drink that water and quench my thirst. The design of the bottle is alluring. It pops off the shelf, from the rest. OOOH AHHH! Perfect water!!!! Must drink this water...

So what is so perfect about this water anyway?...let's look at the label. QUOTE! "Empowered drinking water." "The Ultimate Fluid to Empower Your Body and Mind." Around the base of the bottle reads, "Health, Lifestyle, Taste, Performance"

This water is Purified, remineralized, ionized, microstructured, and oxygen rich...WHAT? Oxygen rich? what the heck, as soon as I open up the bottled water (of any kind) take off the cap oxygen flows in (called air!) and the water becomes "Oxygen rich" - for free! lol.

Now the nutrition label. 18mg sodium? ingredients sodium chloride. Isn't that not good for us? not sure? 0 carbs, that is good. It is water after all, should not be in there anyway. 1 mg of Potassium, cool I could always use a little potassium, that is good for me. I could also just eat a banana!

NOW how does this water taste? Remember now I have been drinking allot of bottled water lately, so I know a clean, crisp taste of yummy water when I take that first sip. The "Perfect water" tasted like TAP WATER!!! WHAT THE HECK? This company spent more money on the packaging and title of their water and forgot the most important part, the taste of bottled water! I would not be buying a bottle of water just to be drinking, TAP! Give me the kitchen sink for that or a garden hose! This sure does not taste like Perfect Water!

Nice try, good packaging. Tweak it a bit more, then re-launch the perfect water.

Times have changed.

At the hotel I work at, there is a group of elderly people staying with us. This man in his 80s or so walks past the front desk and sends a wink at me. I thought it was so sweet and classic. His generation winks to pretty ladies and uses a wink as kind gesture, like a nod. To acknowlage you are in the room, sort of like a, "good day" greeting. A simple wink. He has probably winked to thousands of people in his lifetime unconciencly as we today say, How are you? for a greeting.

I thought of his wink to me like a nice greeting. Today in 2008, if a man in his 20s or 30s winks at a lady it is flirty and annoying. Or the lady responds with the question, "do you have something in your eye?" haha.

People in this generation don't really wink. It is mostly just the generation that the old man grew up in, such as our grandparents generation. I think it is a lost gesture. Same with the nod, is slowly passing. The nod is a good acknowlagement to someone from across a crowded room, to let them know you see them, but they are to far away to yell out, Hey there, how are you? The nod is suttle like a wink, captured in a moment.

Preggy pics...

Many of you have been eager for pregnant photos. I took some last week (@10 wks). There is not much to show yet. Here are the pics and you can see a little baby bump. It is so exciting, and beautiful to be pregnant. I love every bit of it, and cannot wait to meet our little one.

P.S. I took the photo of the lilli pads in a pond. It was taken at the Botanical Gardens, here in MO.

I will post more as the belly gets bigger.
